Soul Paintings
A Soul Painting is an original artwork Finbar makes with you, an impression of who you are, created in the space of an hour and a half and yours to keep.
You sit with him, online from anywhere in the world or in person at his studio in Galway on the west coast of Ireland, while the painting takes shape.

How it's made
You sit with Finbar and he talks with you. As you speak, he shares what he sees, and from that an impression of the artwork forms. He then creates it there in the moment, in your presence, from start to finish.
The making takes around 90 minutes. You don't need to arrive with anything or prepare in any way. You're simply invited to be present while the work is made, and to be part of the process as it unfolds. Do give yourself at least an hour afterwards to integrate and sit in your energy.
Each painting is made in whatever medium feels most aligned to you on the day: oil pastel, watercolour, or another. No two are ever the same.
Online or in person
A Soul Painting can be made online over Zoom or in person at Finbar's Galway studio. The price and the experience are the same, whichever you choose.
Online means Finbar can create one with you wherever you are in the world, and it lets him make them while travelling too. In person, his studio is a welcoming space to come and have yours made, and to take it home with you on the day.

A Soul Painting is a chance to witness your own painting being made in energy. There's nothing to prepare for. Some people laugh, some people cry, most do a bit of both. It's a relaxed space, and you're sure to leave lighter and brighter, with a sense of alignment and hope. Oh, and a beautiful painting, of course.

I would describe the sitting I had with Finbar as both simple and profound. A very calm process on Zoom where Finbar shared what he was seeing and feeling and then moved to colouring what he felt. I sat in silence on the other side of the screen and when he was finished he held up what he had created and it was an expression of what he had felt, but it also connected to so many threads of things that had shown up for me across a number of years in one simple Soul Painting. It still hasn't fully arrived inside me, but I was quite taken aback by how simple and short the process was, and at the same time the profound impact his words and intuitively led Soul Painting had when revealed. It varies. Oil pastel, watercolour, or another medium, chosen in the moment to suit you. Each piece is on acid-free paper, signed and dated on the back.

Yes. It's yours.

If your painting is made in person, you take it home with you on the day. Finbar also likes to take a quick photo of the two of you together, to document the piece. If it's made online, it's posted to you flat, in protective packaging, from his studio in Galway.

Up to six weeks, and occasionally a little longer. Finbar travels for residencies and projects, and posts each piece from his Galway studio when he's home, so he builds in time to make sure yours reaches you safely. He'll keep you updated.

Possibly. Paintings posted outside Ireland may be subject to import duties, taxes, or customs fees on arrival. These are set by the destination country and are the recipient's responsibility.

Yes. A Soul Painting makes a meaningful gift. You can book a time, and the person receiving it can choose or reschedule the time to suit them.

Yes, as long as it's at least 48 hours before your booked time. Within 48 hours, times can't be changed. With enough notice, it's easy to find another time that works.

Each Soul Painting is made to order for one person, so reservations are non-refundable. As made-to-order work, they also fall outside the standard 14-day online return period. Times can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice. If something genuine comes up, get in touch and Finbar will do his best to help.
Price & booking
Sit with Finbar for around ninety minutes while he paints your Soul Painting.
As he works, he'll talk you through what he sees in your mental, emotional and physical energy, bringing clarity and awareness.
A Soul Painting is €220. If you're with Finbar in person, you take the finished piece with you the same day. If you meet online, it's posted out to you once it's complete.
